Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) Founder

Dr. Maria C. Paredes developed Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) in 2009 and was awarded the Dissertation in Practice Award of 2012 from the Carnegie Project on her Educational Doctorate. Her scholarly research in family engagement and her development of APTT have earned her numerous state and national awards. Dr. Paredes leads the Family and Community Engagement program at WestEd. Our WestEd APTT Team Facilitators

The APTT team designs and delivers  professional development for state, district and school leaders and staff on family engagement. Additionally, we facilitate and coach teams through the process of integrating high-impact practices of family engagement into all areas of school improvement.
